Most colleges teach chip design in theory. Few teach it on real tools.

Classroom exposure to EDA tools rarely matches what the industry actually expects on day one. NanoGyan closes that gap — bringing industry-grade infrastructure and practising engineers directly onto campus.

Students work through the entire ASIC flow using industry-standard EDA tools, guided by our own practising engineers — a research credential, a recruiting differentiator, and a story your placement cell can use for years.

What this means for your institution

  • Stronger NAAC/NBA evidence — research output, industry collaboration, infrastructure
  • A genuine NIRF innovation & employability signal
  • Conference papers and patent filings under your institution's name
  • A permanent EDA lab asset that supports your existing academic programmes too
  • Higher core-company placement rates

The design flow: from specification to sign-off

Every NanoGyan project follows the same flow used in our own R&D practice — the difference is your students do it themselves, on real EDA tools, with real outcomes.

01

Specification

Define chip function, block diagram, interface spec

02

RTL design

Synthesisable SystemVerilog, peer reviewed

03

Verification

UVM testbench, coverage closure, sign-off

04

Physical design

Synthesis, floorplan, place & route, timing closure

How the partnership works: a two-phase model, designed for minimal operational burden

phase 1

NanoGyan Centre of Excellence

A dedicated training space on campus, equipped with EDA tools and lab infrastructure. NanoGyan delivers the full curriculum, trainers, hardware, and placement support.

phase 2

NanoGyan Innovation Lab

As the programme matures, the Centre of Excellence evolves into a hybrid training and incubation space — where advanced students and early-stage semiconductor startups work side by side on real chip design problems.

What the college provides

  • Dedicated training space with power & internet
  • Server capable of hosting 60 concurrent users
  • EDA tool license pool (60 seats), isolated from exam infrastructure
  • Cloud lab access for students outside class hours
  • A nominated system administrator (honorarium paid by NanoGyan)

What NanoGyan provides

  • Full curriculum design and delivery across all levels
  • Practising R&D engineers as trainers
  • FPGA boards, embedded kits, RISC-V dev boards
  • Placement support & hiring partner access
  • Structured, project-based curriculum delivery

Funding model: built to be low-friction for your institution

Revenue sharing

Course fees are collected by NanoGyan directly. The institution earns a share of revenue as a passive return — with zero operational effort required.

Skill development scheme

Foundational-level enrolment can be covered through your institution's existing student skill development allowance, with discounted fees in the early years.

Infrastructure as an asset

EDA tool licenses and lab infrastructure procured for NanoGyan remain a permanent institutional asset — usable for your own academic programmes beyond NanoGyan.

Roadmap: what a NanoGyan partnership looks like over four years

1

Year 1

Centre of Excellence established, first cohorts enrolled

2

Year 2

First cohort completes the full design flow; research papers submitted to IEEE/VLSI conferences

3

Year 3

Innovation Lab operational; first startup incubated; advanced modules introduced

4

Year 4+

Recognised semiconductor education hub; student patents filed
